Need help

I just need advice. I dont know how everyone else does it. I am studying for Step 1 and still taking school exams/quizzes (like everyone else). I usually use the postpone feature on my AnKing deck only the day before I have a final exam. Whenever I do this, I have a ridiculous amount of cards to do for what seems like the following week. I am not adding any new cards, but my daily card load is almost unbearable. Is there any solution? What does everyone else do?

Hello,

There’s not really a single ‘solution’, per se. If you’ve added enough cards that the workload is unbearable then you may likely have simply added too many cards.

Very broadly, though, Anki will be the same as most anything else in that, if you have too much on your plate, you have too much on your plate.

You can add less to your plate, take things off your plate, or adjust expectations/goals with regards to the plate. For Anki this might look like adding fewer new cards, suspending existing cards, altering your desired retention, or a combination of the above.

Which option/s you choose will depend on your goals, competing obligations, available time, a handful of other things.

If you’re not using FSRS I would recommend that you do as this may help a bit, but aside from that if you add too many cards you’ll have too many cards. The above options are the closest thing to a ‘solution’ as might likely be available.

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
