Supplemental C - How to approach missed questions
Missed questions are questions that you did not answer correctly while using a question bank like AMBOSS or UWorld. The reason why missed questions are extremely important is that you can use them to your advantage, not only to learn about concepts and solidify your learning, but also to patch up any gaps that you may have had lingering
In summary, whenever you get a question wrong, it is important to understand WHY you got it wrong
Ask yourself:
- Was it a memory issue? (e.g., did I forget the concept or answer?)
- Was it a comprehension issue? (e.g., did I not understand the question?)
- Was it something else?
Based on this, you can then determine your next step. If it was a memory issue, then creating a card or unsuspending a card in the Step deck is very beneficial, to ensure that you never get that concept wrong again
