Not sure about a source but the way I remember learning it is that the JG apparatus in the kidneys has B1 receptors, which are up-regulated via thyroid hormones. Thus in hypothyroidism there is decreased stimulation of the RAAS pathway, leading to reduced total body water and eventually reduced circulatory volume, so ADH is secreted to compensate leading to hyponatremia

I can get behind that. Sounds like the SIADH could be a bit of both mechanisms

Ya I’d agree, likely due to multiple mechanisms and not fully understood yet

I think both could be added to the card then. Either way, I think cards like this benefit from having solid reasoning in the extra field because it is hard to remember seemingly random associations. Also it is better to be able to think through your reasoning.

It is hard to say what the consensus is, but I think for now, the general reasoning is good. I tried some of my own readings on it, and generally yes, between hypothyroidism and SIADH is the factor of decreased cardiac output. Approving it because also it has been >1 month since submission
