@sabrinanagy1 this is a common misconception. translocation is the movement of a segment from one chromosome to another. The type of translocation you are talking about where they are swapped is called reciprocal translocation, reciprocal (like in Psyc) means the exchange. There is also simple translocation (also called substitution where one can just go to another.
