I know that this meets our criteria for tagging, but I don’t think it is necessary here. Just introduces more confusion… would maybe make more sense to tag a card on presentation of dacryostenosis since the key here is recognizing the dx → choosing the tx, but even then I do not feel passionately about it (QID is “infant with bilateral conjunctival injection, eyelid swelling, and watery/mucopurulent discharge, findings consistent with infectious conjunctivitis”).

All that said, you know I am much more conservative about tagging.

I prefer to just tag whats needed to get the answer correctly, I wouldn’t personally want the most incorrect card tagged

I only really want that if the two concepts are commonly confused - for example, if 50% chose cefotaxime (used for gonorrhea conjunctivitis) then I’d be more eager to tag.

I like tagging a wrong answer especially if it is equal in percentage to the correct answer, since that info is technically needed to get the question right too. Practically when doing the cards you would want to relearn both to get that distinction correct. You could add a line in extra about the differentiation management though?

Strongly agree, it helps us if we know which answer options are NOT the answer, so we can rule in which ones could be the answer

Generally I agree, but I really feel like it is most appropriate when the two conditions are commonly confused (e.g., Chlamydia vs. Neisseria conjunctivitis). I can’t say why people did so poorly on this question, but it is a 13-day-old with bilateral conjunctival injection, eyelid swelling, and watery/mucopurulent discharge. This screams Chlamydia conjunctivitis, not dacryostenosis - it is a mystery to me why people chose nasolacrimal massage here. Still don’t support tagging this one personally

We should do a vote on whether we tag most common wrong answers. I personally lean towards not tagging it but having a compare and contrast in the extra of the card that was right

I feel like this is always gonna end up being case-by-case basis, and this is just an example where I don’t support. Sometimes it is helpful, sometimes it isn’t :man_shrugging:

That’s fine I and I agree with your assessment. This one can be rejected
