could also consider “Atherosclerosis of the renal arteries”
Amboss: “MCC in adults ≥ 65 years of age: renal artery stenosis”. No UWorld QID tags for this note, would support removing males and changing to ≥65yo as well.

I believe this was changed previously, need to check history
I would keep men (or males) since RAS is more common in men in older population (women at a younger age due to fibromuscular dysplasia)
Check AMBOSS article on RAS

@ everyone see past discussion - I don’t really agree with the idea that this makes a dupe, although I am not 100% convinced that the change is really necessary either
I’m for reverting text to RAS and extra to secondary to atherosclerosis. Never liked this changed since we made it
Unless I am misunderstanding, don’t think we ever changed the text? Just added to extra
Great. I’ve been hallucinating this change for a year.
I can swear it used to say RAS in text, then it was changed. I am almost certain it used to be RAS in text. Perhaps this was before the history got erased?
If anyone has a friend with V11 or something, can they check this card to see if it says RAS in text?
Think either option looks fine, if the exact cause is RAS I think we can change to that
Friend with v11 says his card says atherosclerosis. Still support changing to RAS as it’s more specific to the underlying mechanism, atherosclerosis makes me think it’s just generalized atherosclerosis.
Sameeeeee
