I find this card to be a bit vague… (it is based on Pathoma)

  • Iron deficiency is an issue for exclusively breastfed pre-term infants
  • Iron deficiency is an issue w/ delayed introduction of solids (exclusively breastfed infants > 6 months)

In general, iron deficiency should not be a problem for exclusively breastfed infants who are not preterm and who are have solids introduced at correct time. Curious what UW Step 3 QID 6280 says about this

10 months old infant with IDA and it asks about the cause
answer is “breast milk- predominant diet”

The risk factor in the table says about infant less than 1 year " * Delayed introduction of solids (ie, exclusive
breastfeeding after 6 months)"

As UW question says breastmilk predominant maybe consider adding note to extra instead of changing text to exclusive? Just a suggestion, think text is okay as is personally

You are right
For me i think “exclusive breastfeeding” is better than “breastfeeding” so maybe meet in the middle
