we should just delete the card as there is another card that already talks about obstructive shock and PE

@anking-maintainers thoughts? Confirmed removed from FA23, but still in Pathoma 2023 (FYI “electromechanical dissociation” is another term for PEA)

I vote leaving it as is, but adding to extra field that pulmonary embolus can also lead to obstructive shock. PE is one of the 5 H’s and T’s for reversible causes of cardiac arrests.

Furthermore, AMBOSS has Saddle PE leading to “right heart strain, hemodynamic instability, and/or death.” My understanding is it’s possible for right heart strain to cause an arrythmia/PEA without obstructive shock.

So no change to card, just add details in extra field about obstructive shock being another possible cause of death.

Not that it should direct our decision here but I remember being taught this directly in Respiratory in August. Plus, this is definitely still in the AMBOSS article linked in rationale above. User just didn’t also look for pulseless electrical activity when looking at the article

We’ve also got Step 1 QID: 1880 to contend with if we do change text (of course I haven’t unlocked that one yet  )

Tag should be removed - saddle embolus is present, but QID asks about likely cause
