Adding own cards on Anki to shared deck from AnkiHub

Hi :slight_smile: am I able to add my own cards to a shared Ankihub deck and still have it updated whenever it gets updated? Or will those cards get lost then?
Also what if I edit cards from the deck, that I don´t want to change with future updates, how do I protect them?
