Can’t download AnKing V12 Step Deck without membership?

Hi, I’m trying to download the AnKing Overhaul Step Deck V12 for USMLE Step 1.

  • When I click “Subscribe” on AnkiHub and then sync in Anki, it shows a popup saying:
“The action you are trying to perform requires an active membership.”

  • I thought the core deck was free. Do I need a paid membership now to get access, or is there another way to download the free version?

  • The old AnkiWeb link is missing/unavailable.

Can someone please clarify how I can get the free V12 deck for Step 1?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Abbydubby,

Thanks for your question about accessing the AnKing V12 Step Deck. Let me clarify the situation:

According to official information from the AnKing team, the V12 Step Deck is only available through AnkiHub, which requires a paid membership. As explained in this FAQ post:

While the deck itself is free, AnkiHub costs money. AnkiHub has multiple full and part-time software developers dedicated to improving and maintaining the software in addition to regularly adding new features.

If you don’t want to sign up for a paid AnkiHub membership, you can still access the previous version (V11) of the deck for free. The V11 deck is available through this Reddit link as confirmed in another official FAQ.

So to summarize your options:

  1. Get V12 through a paid AnkiHub membership
  2. Download the free V11 version from the Reddit link above

I hope this helps clarify how to access the deck! Let me know if you have any other questions.
