Custom Card Styling in AnkiHub Decks with Different Note Types

I’m sorry if this has been asked before. I am trying to switch the card styling of a AnkiHub deck. I subscribe to some decks that use their own note type rather than the ones listed on the Anking Note Types Add On. I tried editing and using the add on but obviously it did not affect these decks. I am not interested in changing the note type for different fields, etc. I just want my cards to have uniform styling instead of changing text size, colors with each card. Is there some work around for this? Can I change all my note types to one such as the Anking/AnkingMed?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello,

Note types are defined when a given deck is uploaded to Ankihub. If you change the note type after the fact you will very likely run the risk of causing compatibility issues, as the note type in your collection will no longer match that of what Ankihub has on file.

That being said, you can likely still edit the cards manually to some degree to influence font size, font style, etc., if that’s what you’d like to do.

In general, for a given note type, if you pull up that card from the browser you can click on ‘Cards’ here:

Then select ‘Styling’:

From here you’ll get a large field in which all of the parameters of the stylistic elements of the card are defined. For some note types this will be very short; for others it will be very long. But, if you want to edit note type styling this is where you’ll do it.

The styling elements for Anki note types largely employ CSS, which may prove more, or less, challenging depends on your comfort level digging through and editing it. Just FYI.

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
