That error means Anki’s collection file is corrupted. It’s an Anki database issue, not specific to AnkiHub, but it will affect your ability to use AnkiHub until it’s fixed.

Please try these steps in order:

  1. Restart Anki and your computer

    • Close Anki completely.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Open Anki again and see if you can open Browse without the error.
  2. Run “Check Database”

    • In Anki, go to:
      Tools → Check Database
    • Let it run and then try opening Browse again.
    • If Anki shows any messages about fixing issues, accept them.
  3. Restore from an automatic backup (recommended if the error persists)

    • In Anki: File → Switch Profile → [click your profile] → “Open Backup…”
(Or File → Import if you’re working with a manual backup file.)
    • Choose the most recent backup from before the error started.
    • After restoring, run Tools → Check Database again.
    • Then try Browse and see if the problem is gone.
  4. Sync & AnkiHub after restoration

    • Once a working backup is restored:
      • Sync with AnkiWeb (Anki’s own sync) and choose the direction carefully (usually “Upload to AnkiWeb” if your local backup is now the good copy).
      • Then open the AnkiHub add-on:
        • Use AnkiHub → Sync with AnkiHub for your shared decks.
    • If AnkiHub warns about conflicts after the restore, let me know exactly what it says so we can choose the safest option.

If the above doesn’t fix it, please reply with:

  • Your Anki version (Help → About Anki).
  • Your operating system (Windows / macOS / Linux).
  • Whether your collection is stored on:
    • a network drive,
    • a cloud-synced folder (e.g., OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive), or
    • the default local Anki folder.

That will help determine the next safest step to preserve your AnkiHub data.

Hello,

Your collection is corrupted. You need to restore from a recent backup before the issue started. Please see this tutorial: How to Restore from Backup

Let me know if you need help with anything else.
