FSRS settings to see all reviews/new cards at once

I am using FSRS and am trying to change a setting to where when I go to do my reviews in the morning all the reviews are there for the day. I have been trouble shooting, but when I go to change the new card sort order the only active options are “card type” or “order gathered”.

I don’t want to have to advance cards every day to get the set up how I want.

I’ll help you with your FSRS settings to see all your reviews at once. Let me search for some relevant information about this topic.

Based on my understanding of your question, you want to see all of your daily reviews and new cards at once rather than having to advance cards throughout the day. This is related to the daily limits setting in Anki.

Adjusting Maximum Reviews/Day

The key setting you need to adjust is the Maximum Reviews/Day in your deck options. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the deck list
  2. Click on the gear icon next to your deck
  3. Look for the “Daily Limits” section
  4. Increase the “Maximum Reviews/Day” to a higher number (many users set it to 9999)

This setting allows you to set an upper limit on the number of reviews shown each day. When this limit is reached, Anki won’t show any more review cards for the day, even if some are waiting. By setting it to a high number, you’ll see all your due reviews at once.

New Card Settings

For new cards, check:

  1. The “New cards/day” setting under “Daily Limits”
  2. Make sure it’s set to the number of new cards you want to see daily

Note About FSRS and Sort Order

The “New Card Sort Order” options you mentioned (card type and order gathered) are related to how new cards are sorted after they’ve been gathered, not how many are shown at once. These options control the order of appearance rather than the quantity.

For FSRS specifically, the daily limits work the same way as with the standard SM-2 scheduler, so the same settings apply.

If you’re still having issues seeing all your cards at once after adjusting these settings, let me know and we can troubleshoot further!

Hello,

I would be happy to help.

Are all of your cards not there for the day when you begin? Can you help me understand a bit what you’re seeing? And what you mean by ‘have to advance’ cards?

All of the cards that are due that day should be available at the start of your day (excepting those with learning steps, which you can set yourself).

But, it might be worth pointing out, that this won’t be related to FSRS either way.

This is what I see when I go to study my deck, but the +64 and +7 are not included when I “study now”. From my research I think it is because those new cards and reviews are scheduled to be added later in the day? I am confused because I unsuspended all my new cards at the same time, so I would like to study them all at the same time. This was not ever an issue to me prior to switching to FSRS a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for your help!

Yep, this is by design. This is why they are included in the gray color after the append ‘+’, which indicates that they are not to be included in your reviews today.

The ‘+X’ designation indicates that the cards are suspended, which is related to your deck settings, specifically sibling burial:

Not quite, since those cards are buried it means that they won’t show up today at all. They will likely show up tomorrow, unless they are buried again.

You can adjust your deck settings per the image I shared above which will control which, if any, cards are buried. But, it’s not related to FSRS either way so not much to adjust there.

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.

This makes so much more sense, I had no idea it had anything to do with burying cards.

THANK YOU!
