How to delete specific field media from all my synced devices?

Hello, I want to delete sketchy 2, sketchy extra fields media to save some storage is there a safe quick way to do so?

You can use the Batch Edit add-on: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/291119185

  1. Download it → restart Anki → go to the browser.
  2. Select every card you want to edit (if it’s all cards, select all of them).
  3. Click on Edit (top left corner) → Batch Edit
  4. Leave the content you want to replace blank → select the field → replace.

You will need to repeat this process for each field.

:warning: Note: Anki may freeze temporarily because of the large number of changes. Just give it some time, and everything should work fine!

Also, don’t forget to protect these fields on the AnkiHub webpage. If you don’t, all images will be downloaded again.

To protect a field:

  1. Click on “Manage Protected Data” on AnkiHub.
  2. Select the AnKingOverhaul note type.
  3. Check the box to protect the field.

Thanks it works, but protection part is havig an issue

eve n I protected them they are still being dowloading from ankihub addon

This is partly how the AnkiHub add-on behaves, we might address this in the future @abdo.nh

So with protection or not full media is syncing anyway, but fileds are protected and not receiving changes?

Yes, media files in protected fields are still downloaded.

@Ahmed7 can we add this to Jira?
