New DermPath cards and other updates!

:microscope:New Dermpath cards!

HUGE thank you to Tammie Ferringer and Dirk Elston who graciously allowed us to share all the images and text from the Geisinger DermPath curriculum. They used this curriculum as an outline when they wrote their textbook so it lines up very well.

:police_car_light: A few important things to note:

  • These cards are all tagged with #Dermki::DermPath and organized by the chapters of the Dermatopathology textbook by Dr. Elston and Dr. Ferringer
  • This added a new “AnKingDermPath” note type
    • This new note type randomizes the images in the Front field so that you don’t just memorize the card
  • There are multiple things that need to be improved, but I wanted to get this shared as soon as possible.
    • one thing we would love to do is add clinical images for each of these cards

:framed_picture: New dedicated fields for Dermnemonics and Dermatographix

With AnkiHub’s latest update, we were able to add dedicated fields for these resources.

:police_car_light: IMPORTANT: If you are using the AnKing Note Types add-on, you will need to update your note types through that in order to get the new styling changes, otherwise the fields may not show up.

:hammer_and_wrench: Help us improve the Dermki deck

We could use all the help we can get to add images (from approved sources) and improve everything. Go here for instructions.

:wrapped_gift: Thank you to everyone that has been contributing to the deck! :clap:t3:

Great updates!!! :clap::tada:

Is there a best way/guidelines for how to adapt the deck for a 2 week AAD process? The current tags are only based on the 4 week AAD course.

I think the 4 week course still lines up fairly well content-wise right? Do the tags not work for it?

@IantheBFG may have a better idea

I think the subdeck works better than the tags.

If pulling from the general Dermki deck in via the tags, things are too detailed for the purposes of a med student. Haven’t been able to quite try as much with the AAD subdeck.

Not sure how this deck compares given that being designed for residents naturally makes it an uphill climb to adapt for med students.
