The latest news about the Dermki deck

Quick update for all you Dermki subscribers

:newspaper: Big News:

  1. We’ve surpassed 4,000 subscribers now! :tada: Very exciting with all the new residents joining us this year!
  2. We shared about the deck at AAD - view the e-poster
  3. Looks like we were highlighted in Cutis

:label: Tag updates

  1. Dermnemonics tagging is complete thanks to @jarett.anderson who did this almost single-handedly. We’d like to add in text to the fields for what the relevant symbols stand for so please help us do this if you’re using this resource.

    • Get $25 off with code AnkiDerm
    • NOTE: These are currently in the Additional Resources field until we can add a new dedicated field (hopefully within a few months)
  2. We are working with the creator of DermatoGraphix (a 3rd year resident!) to add their picture mnemonic images to the deck!

    • He has graciously offered a discount code to try them out: Dermki30 for 30% off.
    • I’m told they are trying to add 2-3 new videos/week and we will be trying to keep up by adding these to the deck as well. If you’re interested in helping with this project in exchange for access, please send me or @dermatographix a message.
    • NOTE: These are currently in the VisualDx field until we can add a new dedicated field (hopefully within a few months)

All discount codes we share are non-affiliate. AnkiHub LLC and AnKing LLC have made agreements to keep this deck completely non-profit and we have no intentions of ever making any income directly or indirectly from this deck.

:hammer_and_wrench: Improvements needed

  1. If you’re adding any changes from the 2nd edition of Alikhan, please add the tag #Dermki::Alikhan::updated::2nd_ed
  2. The biggest improvements we need moving forward are images :framed_picture:.
    a. Dermoscopy images - Dermoscopedia has agreed to let us use their images
    b. Dermpath images - Tammie Ferringer, Jared Gardner, and SagixDx have agreed to let us use their images
    c. Clinical images - DermNet has allowed us to use their images
    d. Skin of color images - Full spectrum dermatology has agreed to let us use their images

If you’d like to help with that, please follow the instructions below:

To add images, please review the How do I submit changes section on the wiki for resources we can use and instructions on how to add them. Even if everyone just submits 3-4 images, that will go a long way in making the deck SO much better!

:soon: Coming soon!

  1. I had a script written that will randomize images in certain fields (i.e. DermNet) so you can see different images each time. I am going to apply that to the note types in a future update. In order to get the updated note type changes, you will need to have the AnKing Note Types add-on installed
  2. As mentioned above, we’re hoping to add the ability to alter note types via AnkiHub soon and we will hopefully be able to add dedicated fields for Dermnemonics and DermatoGraphix.

:gift: Wrapping up

Thank you to everyone that has been contributing to the deck! :clap:t3:
