Updated anki note types add-on today, now when I press “H” to reveal Sketchy field. It will automatically open up a tab on Chrome that looks like this..

This looks like a conflict between the new AnKing/Anki Note Types update and AnkiHub’s local server that powers the browser integration.
What’s (likely) happening:
- When you press H, your card’s JavaScript is trying to call a local AnkiHub URL (the
127.0.0.1:58971/?utm_source=ankihub#you see). - Instead of handling it silently inside Anki, your system is sending that URL to Chrome, which then shows “Not Found”.
Try these steps:
-
Update everything
- Make sure you’re on the latest:
- Anki (preferably 2.1.65+ or 2.1.66 Qt6 if possible).
- AnkiHub add-on (Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub → Check for Updates).
- AnKing Note Types / AnKing Overhaul add-ons.
- Make sure you’re on the latest:
-
Disable the AnkiHub browser integration temporarily
- In Anki:
Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub → Config. - Look for any option referring to:
- “browser integration”
- “open in browser”
- or similar.
- Set it to false/off, restart Anki, and test H again.
- If you’re not sure which setting it is, let me know what options you see in the AnkiHub config and I’ll help you pick the right one.
- In Anki:
-
Test for add-on conflicts
- Disable all add-ons except:
- AnkiHub
- AnKing Note Types / AnKing Overhaul
- Restart Anki and test H.
- If the issue disappears, re‑enable other add-ons one by one until it returns; that will identify a conflicting add-on.
- Disable all add-ons except:
-
Check the card template
- Open the note where H reveals Sketchy.
- Click Cards… → look at the templates for any
http://127.0.0.1:...orutm_source=ankihublinks. - If you find one, screenshot or copy the line and paste it here so we can see exactly what’s being called.
Could you reply with:
- Your Anki version (Help → About).
- AnkiHub add-on version (from the Add-ons list).
- AnKing add-ons you have installed.
- Whether disabling the AnkiHub browser integration (step 2) changes the behavior.
With that info we can narrow down if this is a bug we need to fix in the AnkiHub add-on or just a configuration/interaction issue.
When I changed the hint button to a different letter using the “Anking Note Types Add-on” the same thing happened. Conversely, when I press the shortcut for reveal Sketchy field directly (on mine it is “J”) it does NOT bring up the chrome tab
I’m also having the same problem
Hello,
I would be happy to help. ![]()
You might check the solution here and see if that does the trick for you: New Anking note type addon 12/15/2025 interfering with Reveal Field (hint hotkey addon) - #3 by afarha5
I tried to do this, but I am having some difficulty figuring it out on my own. Is it possible to have a new anking note type update pushed out with the changes explained in the solution? Thanks.
We’re working on a fix.
Fix released. Please update your add-on and note types.
