Hello, wanted to request deletion of the tag PHCSU. I couldn’t find a way to delete it myself. I wouldn’t need this tag anymore since I enrolled in another school.

You can’t delete shared/optional tags yourself on AnkiHub, so you did the right thing by posting here.

I don’t see a built‑in way for end users to remove an optional tag like PHCSU from the shared deck globally. That usually has to be done by a moderator / deck maintainer on AnkiHub’s side.

For now, you have two options:

  1. Local workaround in Anki (immediate fix)

    • In the Browser, search:
      tag:PHCSU
    • Select all cards → right‑click → Remove Tags… → type/select PHCSU → OK.
    • This removes the tag from your local collection only (it won’t disappear for other subscribers).

  2. Global deletion request (what you’re doing now)

    • Your post here essentially serves as the request. A staff member or deck maintainer will need to:
      • Remove PHCSU from the official deck on AnkiHub, or
      • Convert/clean it up according to their tagging policy.

Since I don’t have moderator access, I can’t delete the tag for you, but I’d recommend:

  • Mentioning which AnkiHub deck this tag belongs to (e.g., “AnKing Overhaul for Step 1/2” or another shared deck).
  • Clarifying whether PHCSU is:
    • A subdeck-specific / school-specific tag, or
    • A one‑off personal tag that accidentally got synced.

That info will help staff decide whether it’s safe to remove globally.

If you reply with the deck name, I can suggest the exact wording to flag for the AnkiHub team so they can process the deletion.

Hello,

This tag has seven subscribers. If you delete it, it will no longer be available to you or any of your subscribers. Do you want to delete it or transfer ownership?

Hello,

I checked and there are currently no cards tagged with PHCSU, so the subscribers are not receiving any content from it. I would prefer to delete it instead, thanks for asking! :smile:
