Regarding FSRS

I amc urrently using the recommended Anking settings with the Ankihub deck and find it a bit weird that after the second time seeing a card it goes straight to 27d or even 1 month. Like seems a bit excessive? Will this change over time as the algorithm changes or is this normal and I will magically remember this stuff in 30 days?

What is your desired retention set at? And can you give an example of how you use the hard button?

Can you take a screenshot of your settings? Also, did you copy the FSRS parameters from the video or is it currently the default one?

Hey, thanks for the replies guys! Here are my settings. My retention is set at 85% and I normally unsuspend cards from pathoma and try them like 30 minutes to an hour after watching the videos and skimming through the textbook. If I know the answer I press good, if I don’t again, if I found the concept hard or got it wrong multiple times I used hard.

Thanks again!

Does the month interval come after the 2nd or 3rd time you press good on a card? i.e, first time ~5 day interval, second time ~10 day interval, or is the second time 1 month?

The settings appear to be correct, the intervals might change as you get more review history and optimize. The only other thing that could be messing with your intervals is if you incorrectly use the hard button when you get an answer wrong, instead of using again

Yeah my first time is 4-5 days, second time 10 days. Is this normal? Seems like a long time, but if it works it works

Yes that sounds about right for 85% retention! If those are the default settings (i.e., you haven’t optimized FSRS parameters before), the intervals might change as you get more review history and optimize. If you’ve optimized before and have enough review history, you can look at your true retention in deck statistics and it should begin lining up near 85%.

I am having a similar problem, except my cards are getting sent out 13-17 days upon hitting “good” for the first time. I don’t use “hard” when I actually get it wrong, but I do find myself hitting “hard” for cards that I get right but struggled the first time and especially don’t want to see them in 2 weeks if I hit good, so I hit hard. Appreciate the help.
