Thanks for the screenshotâthat helps.
Smart Search itself doesnât look âdownâ globally based on what I can see from other recent reports, but there are a few common reasons youâll get the âUH OH! WE COULDNâT FIND ANY FLASHCARDSâŠâ message even when the server is fine:
Not enough matching context
Long, specific sentences (like full video titles or lecture descriptions) often donât match any cards closely enough.
Try:
Shortening to just the key topic:
e.g. instead of the whole sentence, try: lung transplantation, lung transplant complications, types of lung transplant rejection
Running a few different, more general queries.
Filters hiding results
In your screenshot I canât see the Filters panel, but incorrect filters are a very common reason for âno results.â
Click Filters on the right and:
Set Decks to âAllâ (or at least include the deck(s) you actually have).
Turn off restrictive filters like âOnly my cards,â âNew/Review only,â etc.
Reset filters to default if youâre unsure.
Decks not indexed / not synced
Smart Search only works on cards that:
Are in decks youâve synced properly with AnkiHub.
Are part of decks that are included in the Smart Search index (all official AnkiHub decks are; very small/private ones may take time).
Make sure:
Youâve recently synced Anki with AnkiHub.
Youâre searching in decks that actually contain relevant material (e.g., AnKing Overhaul, related subject decks, etc.).
Temporary indexing issues
Occasionally, some new content isnât yet indexed, so searches briefly return nothing.
Wait a few minutes and try a much more generic query like cardiology or renal:
If those also return nothing, itâs more likely a broader Smart Search issue.
Next steps to help us debug
Could you reply with:
A screenshot of your Filters panel in Smart Search.
Which decks you have synced to AnkiHub.
Whether any query returns results (e.g., try a simple word like heart).
If youâd like, I can also link this to the team as a potential Smart Search outage once we confirm that:
I havenât seen or heard of any other users reporting similar issues. Can you share a bit more detail about the specific difficulties youâre running into?
The more context you can share the easier it may be to be of help. Screenshots are ideal, if you can, just so I can see what youâre seeing
