if the maximum review card limit on anki is reached, what will happen if you continue to miss days. like I have my max review card limit set to 750. If I just stop doing anki for a week or two and my review cards accumulate and reach to 750. What will happen to all the future cards that would have added on to the review card limit if I had set the limit higher?
Hello,
They will just continue to accumulate. So if you set it to 750, it might actually be 3,500 for example, but Anki will keep it at 750.
If you were to then switch it to 9999, you would see how many actual reviews that you have overdue all at once.
so what is the point of the maximum card review then? so say I have 3000 cards overdue, and my max is set to 750. If I start to finally review, it will continue to stay at 750 cards since I have 3000 cards overdue? and then obviously after a while it will begin to go down once I completed 2250(3000-750) card reviews?
Yes correct.
It is the limit for the day, so if you do 750. The next day it will be 750 again until you finish all your reviews back down to 0.
Itโs more of a โvisual limitโ. It doesnโt prevent Anki from accumulating more backlogs.
This is why its recommended to keep reviews at 9999, because it really doesnโt do much otherwise
