@Cameron the text is copy / pasted from the learning objective in UWorld QID so would have to edit it if we want to add a card on this topic. The QID is asking about the most likely cause of IIH, 40% correctly answered cerebral venous hypertension, 38% wrongly answered increased CSF production (which would be a choroid plexus pappiloma per UW). Amboss doesn’t mention increased central venous pressure, just states it is due to a mismatch between CSF production and resorption. UpToDate says there are many proposed mechanisms, central venous hypertension (the answer in UWorld) is just one of the proposed mechanisms. Nasty question but I don’t think we should add a note for this because the pathophysiology is not known and the sources don’t seem to agree.
