Amboss QBank tags for PANCE

Is there a way to add cards for pance/EOR qbank questions. it seems there is a large number of questions that dont have anking cards associated in Amboss, but there are cards in the deck that fit perfectly.

example:

tag:*AMBOSS::Uv1bzi0 has no anking cards related to it on amboss but

nid:1683563642087 (ankihub note id:1495731c-6db3-4bfb-8a4b-f36f709b71aa) aligns perfectly with this. nid:1537564545448 (ankihub note id:8c467704-5f0b-4f9d-9120-678443fc7c56) is also not a bad card.

Or could start a #PANCE::AMBOSS tag and use the QIDs like the step exams have?

if there is no interest in adding tags to the cards under the PANCE section, is there a way to suggest the nid in/to amboss and have it return the noteID “nid:1683563642087 OR nid:1537564545448” when using the get anki cards function?

You’ve identified a real gap here—right now there isn’t an official, built‑out system for PANCE/EOR AMBOSS ↔ AnKing tagging like there is for STEP QIDs.

Based on what’s currently available:

  1. Adding / standardizing PANCE AMBOSS tags (community-side)

    • There is no official #PANCE::AMBOSS QID-style tagging system that I can find on AnkiHub yet.
    • You can locally add tags like PANCE::AMBOSS::<QID> (or whatever scheme you prefer) to notes such as:
      • nid:1683563642087 (AnkiHub note id: 1495731c-6db3-4bfb-8a4b-f36f709b71aa)
      • nid:1537564545448 (AnkiHub note id: 8c467704-5f0b-4f9d-9120-678443fc7c56)
    • But for those tags to become part of the shared / synced AnkiHub deck, they need to be:
      • Proposed as a deck edit on AnkiHub, and
      • Approved/merged by the maintainers.

    If you’re willing, a good path forward is:

    • Pick a clear convention: e.g. #PANCE::AMBOSS::QID-xxxx.
    • Add a few high‑yield mappings as test edits via AnkiHub’s “Suggest edit” flow.
    • Post in the deck’s main thread (or here) asking maintainers if they’re open to adopting that scheme deck‑wide.
  2. “Get Anki cards” in AMBOSS using specific nids

    • AMBOSS’s “Get Anki cards” integration works primarily via tags / card links that it recognizes (e.g. certain tag patterns for USMLE QIDs in the AnKing deck).
    • I’m not aware of any way (currently) to tell AMBOSS:

      “For this question, return nid:1683563642087 OR nid:1537564545448”
      via a custom mapping on your side. It doesn’t accept arbitrary nid rules per‑question from the user.

    • To have AMBOSS recognize those cards, there would need to be:
      • Either: a standardized PANCE tag convention they support,
      • Or: direct coordination between the AnKing/AnkiHub team and AMBOSS to add support for such mappings.
  3. Practical workaround right now
    Until an official system exists:

    • Locally tag your matches
      • When you find a good match (like the two nids you mentioned), add a local tag such as:
        • PANCE::AMBOSS::<QuestionID>
        • and optionally PANCE::System::<system> for your own organization.
    • Use Anki searches from AMBOSS
      • When you’re in a PANCE Amboss question, you can:
        • Copy the QID or key words.
        • In Anki, search for:
          • tag:PANCE::AMBOSS::<that-QID> if you’ve tagged it, or
          • a combination of keywords in the browser (e.g. deck:"AnKing Overhaul" asthma wheeze child) to jump to your candidate cards.
    • This is manual, but once you tag commonly seen questions, it becomes faster over time.
  4. If you want this to become “official”
    Since this would benefit many PANCE/EOR users, I’d recommend:

    • Posting this as a feature / tagging proposal on:
      • The main AnKing/AnkiHub deck thread for PANCE (if one exists), or
      • In a new “Feature Request”–style topic explicitly titled something like:

        “Proposal: Official PANCE AMBOSS QID tags for AnKing deck”

    • In that post, include:
      • The example you gave (tag:*AMBOSS::Uv1bzi0 with the two candidate nids).
      • A suggested tag format.
      • A short rationale (“similar to Step QID tags, but for PANCE/EOR”).

    That makes it easier for:

    • Deck maintainers to review and decide whether to adopt it.
    • The team to potentially coordinate with AMBOSS if needed.

If you’d like, I can help you draft a short, concrete proposal text you can paste into a new feature request post or the deck’s main thread, including suggested tag format and workflow.

@camicardona Would this be something that could be useful for the PANCE tag? We could reach out to AMBOSS regarding this
