I’ve been working on a project to improve tagging diversity within the AnKing deck, particularly for USMLE-Rx questions. While the UWorld tag coverage is extensive, I’ve noticed that USMLE-Rx cards are relatively under-tagged, which limits filtering and study optimization through other high-yield resources.
To address this, I’ve been developing an AI-assisted system using ChatGPT that semantically analyzes question vignettes and explanations to extract key concepts. These are then matched against AnKing cloze-formatted Anki notes to return related UWorld question IDs, leveraging tags that follow the format:
#AK_Step1_v12::#UWorld::…::
Once the relevant UWorld question IDs are extracted, they’re automatically formatted as a comma-separated list compatible with the “Find Cards from UWorld” Anki add-on—allowing batch searches of concept-matched cards. This tool has been particularly helpful for me in bridging conceptual gaps across different Qbank sources, especially for Rx content that lacks robust tagging.
I’m wondering:
• Is there a formal way to suggest or contribute new tags to the AnkiHub community?
• Would there be interest in sharing the prompt-based algorithm I developed?
• Is it possible to upload a cleaned version of this tool or collaborate with others to improve Rx tagging coverage?
The AI system reads .txt exports of AnKing cards (split into chunks for size reasons), filters cards based on concept alignment, and outputs a dual-format list of question IDs. If anyone’s interested, I’d be happy to share the prompt or even demo how it works.

Separately, for the AnKing Step deck more specifically there are formatting requirements for suggesting tags in order for them to be considered by the deck maintainers.

In order for suggested tags to be considered for inclusion and approval you will want for them to abide by and agree with the submission guidelines outlined there.
