Anki decks in amboss

Hi, i am trying to study for my pediatric board exams and i have been trying to create flash cards from the anki site linked in Amboss New England journal of medicine. I have sent several e-mails to the Anki team but the communication has been slow and disjointed as i keep getting a different response from a different person and the instructions are still not clear. Can someone share a simple step by step guide on how to create the decks from Amboss ? I was told to download anki which i did but when i copy the anki querry from Amboss, what are the EXACT next steps. Do then manually make the flash cards? i will appreciate any help. Thanks

Hello again. .-)

I would be happy to help.

My apologies, though I don’t know if I’m familiar with what you’ve described here. This sounds like it may be outside of AnkiHub, though perhaps you can clarify for me so I have a better idea of what you’re describing

Just so I’m on the same page: which Anki team is it that you’ve been contacting?

I show our last correspondence as having been a few weeks ago, in which we were able to respond to your inquiry the same day. This was about 24 days ago, after which I don’t see there as having been a response. Happy to continue trying to be of help, though, in any way/s that we can.

I’m not familiar with creating decks from Amboss, I’m sorry to say. But, generally your options will fall into two camps:

  • If there is a premade deck, many folks opt to use those. I’m not certain what decks there may be for Peds board exam, specifically, though. At the very least I’m not aware of any
  • If there is not a premade deck, it may be the case that you’ll want to make your own cards.

If you opt to make your own cards, the process is pretty straightforward. From the bottom of your main Anki screen you can click ‘Create Deck’:

From here, you may name the deck whatever you like. ‘Peds exam’, for example.

From there, also on the main Anki page, you can click ‘Add’, which will open up a window from which you can create cards:

As far as creating cards, that’s about it. This process would be broadly the same no matter what it is for which you’re creating cards.

If there are other specifics to Amboss’s partnership with The New England Journal of Medicine, it might be helpful to reach out to them and see what the specifics are of what they offer.

But, if there is anything AnkiHub-related that we can help with, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Happy to help anytime. :mending_heart:

Hi

To get anki on my phone is that the one that’s $24 , is it lifetime access ?

Not sure if I figure out how to make the decks . Is this what it should look like ?

Thanks

The AnkiMobile app is offered by the developers of Anki, rather than AnkiHub, but I believe that it is about $25 USD and that it is a one-time purchase. You may be able to double-check these details from the App store, and I’m sure there is more specific information there, if it’s helpful

It looks like, from the image you shared, that you are on ankiweb.net which is the browser version of Anki. It is possible to use Anki from a browser, though most folks opt to use the Anki software, which is also offered by the developers of Anki separate from AnkiHub.

You can always download the latest version of Anki at the official Anki website: https://apps.ankiweb.net/

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
