AnkiHub vs. AnkiCollab

I’ve been studying off the a subscribed ankihub deck for a year but saw that the deck (Ankore) is moving to AnkiCollab and no further updates will be made on ankihub.

If I unsubscribe from the AnkiHub deck and download the AnkiCollab deck, will all my studied cards reset?

Here’s how to think about this, since your topic title is ā€œAnkiHub vs. AnkiCollabā€ and you posted in :person_raising_hand: Support:

  • This category is for general support questions about using AnkiHub (web app or add-on).
  • It’s not for:
    • Questions already covered in the Docs
    • Questions about a specific shared deck (those go in #ankihub-decks)
    • General Anki questions that don’t involve AnkiHub (those go to the Anki Support Forum or #off-topic)

If your actual question is about how AnkiHub compares to AnkiCollab (features, pricing, reliability, etc.), could you clarify what specifically you want to compare (e.g. collaboration workflow, updates to shared decks, conflict handling, or something else)? Once you specify that, I can:

  • Point you to any existing AnkiHub docs or community posts that address that aspect.
  • Explain how that workflow is handled in AnkiHub so you can decide if it fits your use case.

Right now your post only contains the category description, so feel free to reply with your concrete question about AnkiHub vs. AnkiCollab.

Hello,

I would be happy to help.

I can’t say I’m very familiar with AnkiCollab, unfortunately, so I can’t say a lot about what may transpire were you to switch over to there. I haven’t used the service myself, and don’t have a lot of insight I can offer there, I’m sorry to say

The Anki software allows you to make a backup of your local collection, though, which you can do at any time, if you’d like to be extra safe. This tutorial can walk you through how to make a backup: How to Restore From Backup

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
