Anking deck has no breakdown of topics

Hi, I cannot figure out why there are no breakdowns of topics for any subject in my anking deck. I used to have it and then i decided to restart everything so I deleted the deck and redownloaded it new just now but there are no breakdowns anymore. Please help!

I’ll help you figure out why your AnKing deck isn’t showing the breakdown of topics. Let me search for relevant information about this issue in the AnkiHub community.

Reading: Why are there no subdecks in the AnKing V12 deck?

Hi @Blazo101!

I understand you’re missing the topic breakdowns in your AnKing deck. This is actually expected behavior when using AnkiHub, and there’s a simple explanation.

The AnKing deck on AnkiHub intentionally doesn’t use subdecks for organization. Instead, it uses tags to organize content by topic. This gives more flexibility since one card can have multiple tags (whereas a card can only belong to one deck).

How to find the topic breakdowns:

  1. Go to Browse in Anki
  2. On the left-hand side, look at the Tags section
  3. You’ll find hierarchical tags like #AK_Step1_V12, #AK_Step2_V12, and #AK_Step3_V12
  4. Under these main tags, you’ll find all the topic breakdowns organized by subject

The tag #AK_Original_Decks contains all the original subdeck organization if you’re looking for that specific structure.

Here’s what the tag hierarchy should look like:

If you’d like to study specific topics, you can select cards by their tags in the browser and create filtered decks based on those selections.

Does this help with your issue?

Hello,

The breakdowns are in the tab on the left of your Browser screen. Just scroll down and expand the tags.

Here’s a tutorial that can help you with the process of unsuspending cards from the tags you want to study: How to Get Started Studying

The tags in the tutorial are from the AnKing Step Deck, but it’s the same process for your MCAT deck.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

thank you i didnt realize that the tags were underneath and were what i was previously using. appreciate the help!!
