I have noticed there is a āStep2decksā under Tags. Is this considered the Anking STEP 2 deck? I also noticed a Step_2 under original decks (see attached image). The original Step 2 deck has 8134 cards, while the āStep2decksā has 6155 cards. Is there a reason the newer deck has fewer cards? Is the 6155 card deck still considered sufficient for STEP 2 preparation? Thank you.
Hello,
This tag is not part of the AnKing Step Deck; likely it belongs to a different deck that you had, or have, in your collection. But, I can confirm for you that itās not part of the current AnKing at least.
For the AnKing deck, most of the (important) tags are contained here:
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if thereās anything else I can help with.
To clarify, even though āStep2decksā is under !AK_UpdateTags, it isnāt part of the current Anking? Otherwise, that answers my question and it seems Step_2 under original decks is the STEP 2 deck to use. Is there any other STEP 2 decks in Anking, or is Step_2 under #AK_Original_Decks the main/only one? Thank you!
There is a longer explanation, but it can also be intuited from the tag tree itself: these are part of earlier updates that occurred with predecessor decks on which the AnKing Step deck was built. They are not tags that I would recommend as using to study with the current AnKing deck.
Same thing here, āoriginal decksā is there for posterity and I would not recommend using that tag to study with the current version of the AnKing deck.
The image I shared above is the appropriate tag/s that I would recommend using for the current AnKing Step Deck:
This is the current tag, the most updated, and the one that reflects all changes made in the most up-to-date iteration of the AnkiHub version of the AnKing Step deck.
Hopefully that offers some clarity, but please let me know if I missed anything and/or if there is anything else I can help with. Happy to be of help however I can.
Thank you for the clarification. In the most current tag (#AK_Step2_v12), there doesnāt seem to be a specific STEP 2 deck? There are shelf cards, cards split by resources (Amboss, Sketchy, etc.), but I donāt see a deck specifically dedicated to just STEP 2 preparation? I apologize for all the questions.
That is correct. Perhaps a bit of clarification is due there as well: the short version is that the Step deck does not have individual subdecks, for a number of reasons.
Thus, the deck is organized by step 1, step 2, etc., but there is not a specific, and separate, step 2 deck. You can, of course, make a subdeck for it if you like. Plenty of people do that all the time and it is trivially easy; takes about a moment or two.
Happy to walk you through how to do that if you like.
Thank you for the clarification. I should be ok but I appreciate all your help!
