• Tags in ^Other::^FA_Updates are several years old and serve no real purpose so they have been deleted
• ^EXPN has been moved to #AK_Other to clean up Step 1 tag tree
• Formula has been moved to #AK_Other under card features for better categorization
• Removed !AK_UpdateTags subtag and kept them all under #AK_Other
• Flag_these_cards are no longer necessary to have or do therefore:
  • Deleted pharmextras tag since only relevant for 23 cards and majority of duplicates have been addressed
  • Potential duplicates is an old tag and has not been updated or is useful anymore
  • SketchyPathAdds moved to #AK_Other
  • Temporary → moved to the high yield temporary tag if they didn’t already have a yield tag

New Only_Step Tag Announcement

We’re excited to announce a brand new subset of tags to the Step deck. The #AK_Other::Only_Step_1, #AK_Other::Only_Step_2, and #AK_Other::Only_Step1&2_Overlap tags are made to make your studying easier and more efficient.

Below, we have linked a detailed FAQ that explains what the tags are, how you can use them, and how they were created. We also created a video if you prefer a visual format for explaining.

In summary: you no longer have to guess which cards are only for Step 1, only for Step 2, or meant for both Steps. We have done the work for you! We hope you enjoy and please feel free to leave any feedback!!

The Pitt & Medical Show Optional Tag Projects

After a Reddit post with a great & fun idea for tagging medical shows (thanks to u/juicy_scooby!), we want to start up some mini-projects for this for those who are interested.

If you’d like to participate in tagging a medical show with optional tags (The Pitt, House MD, The Good Doctor, Chicago Med, Grey’s Anatomy, etc.), then feel free to reach out and send an email to ahmed@ankihub.net with your AnkiHub username and which show you’d like to help tag. We will be using Discourse community group chats to coordinate this.

We have already started an optional tag for The Pitt.

You no longer have to ‘procrastinate’ when watching medical shows because you’ll be basically revising at the same time​

Quick question following up with the step-only tags!

There seems to be a discrepancy between the step-only tags and when I type the following in the search bar:

tag:#AK_Step1_v12 -tag:#AK_Step2_v12

Additionally, on some cards in the step 1 tag only, many still appear to be tagged with step 2 tags. I am mainly just asking out of curiosity about this discrepancy. Wondering if you could shed some light on this! Please let me know! Thanks!

Yes, to do this, paste the following:

tag:#AK_Other::Only_Step_1&2_Overlap OR tag:#AK_Other::Only_Step_2

Then select all the cards and toggle suspend until there is no check mark / they are not yellow in color

Question out of curiosity!

Guessing this may have been brought up at some point, but I am just wondering if there is any plan for creating yielded tags for step 2 (similar to how there was for step 1).

For example:
tag:#AK_Step1_v12::#Low/HighYield

Or if there is no plan for yielded tags, I am also curious as to why! Mainly wondering because I found it very helpful when studying for step 1 (really only did the medium yielded and up). Thanks!

Guessing this may have been brought up at some point, but I am just wondering if there is any plan for creating yielded tags for step 2 (similar to how there was for step 1).

We have actually brought this up previously, but we decided it against it atleast for now since Step 2 is scored and a high yield tag wouldn’t make the most sense.

The reason why we made a Step 1 yield tag because it was pass/fail, while Step 2 is scored. Personally, I think a yield tag for Step 2 would actually be beneficial, it is something we may consider in the future if enough support for it grows
