Project Progress

High Yield Tag Changes

We have changed the name and location of the High Yield tag. The tag has now been renamed to #AK_Step1_v12::#Low/HighYield. We did this for a few reasons:

• Users have had difficulty navigating and finding the High yield tag, therefore we have now kept it in the main tag tree so its more easily visible
• We have renamed the tag from HighYield to Low/HighYield since some users did not realize there were categories within the tag. The name now fully encompasses the purpose of the tag, which is categorizing cards based on 5 levels of “yield” from low yield to high yield

Also, there has been many questions regarding the high yield tag, so we made a FAQ that answers everything here, make sure to check it out: 👑 What is the "High Yield" tag and how should I use it?

NBME / CMS Form, DirtyMedicine, NinjaNerd, DivineIntervention Tagging Help

A huge push has been made to improve the tagging for NBME and CMS forms as well as start new tags across the Step deck. The maintainers wanted to thank these incredible individuals for their initiative to help tag these resources to improve the learning experience for all future learners using the Step deck

Hey there, thanks for reaching out! The new images will take some time to sync, please go to AnkiHub add-on menu and click to sync with AnkiHub. You can check the media sync status in the same menu.

Thanks your assistance! I had another question because some images that my friend who is a premium member gets images that I dont get on my regular Anking membership. Is that because he has premium access? Please let me know. Thanks!

I would be happy to help.

The images will not differ depending on membership tier. It’s hard to say much more, without more context, as to why your images may differ from your friends but I can say that it’s not related to membership type

Hi Brian,

So the first pic is from my friend’s laptop. He has the “Major malabsorption syndromes” table by Anking for that card. Then I looked up that same card on my anki (2nd pic) and saw that I dont have that image. Could you help me get all the up-to-date anking images please?

Just tried it. Still no change. I will say that some of the Anking images do appear. For example, I have this IBD image but wont have the ‘Major malabsorption syndromes’ image. The malabsorption syndromes image was recently added to the deck whereas the IBD was added a while ago so my friend thinks that I am not getting the newly added images.

The images might still be downloading, can you go to the AnkiHub addon → media sync → does it say idle or installing?

Also, if you check the tropical sprue celiac card, can you confirm you don’t see the image at all? Even the small icon that signifies a missing image?

How much storage do you have on your device? And what Anki version are you on currently?

There is still no image on the tropical sprue card.

That version is a couple years old now, that may be causing some issues.

Just so I’m on the same page, can you confirm for me the version number of Anki that you’re using now?

Then, from there, head to your top menu bar: Tools - Add-ons - Check for Updates. Make sure that all of your add-ons are up to date (if you do update some, you’ll want to restart Anki)

After that, give this a shot: Resetting Local Changes

Version ⁨25.09.2 (3890e12c)⁩. Checked for updates: none. Also rest local changes. Still the image is not appearing. I am sorry, I don’t mean to be a pain. I just think that those images are really useful in learning those cards:)

Gotcha, all good.

In this case, I believe that the images aren’t appearing as it seems that you’ve protected all of your fields:

By protecting all of your fields, AnkiHub is necessarily unable to write to any of your fields.

These fields are unprotected by default, so in having protected them it’s blocking AnkiHub from adding those images, in essence

In order for those fields to be appropriately populated and updated, you’ll want to unprotect those fields. This tutorial can walk you through how to do that: How to manage protected fields

Give that a shot, let me know how you fare, and we’ll go from there and hopefully we can get you squared away.

Now that you’ve unprotected the fields, that should free up AnkiHub to be able to write to those fields. However, you’ll likely still need to reset local changes again to tell the server to push those changes
