Extra field showing three times

For some reason the extra field is showing three times in all of my cards. I tried resetting local changes, but nothing happened, and when editing a card, it only shows twice which makes me think the issue is in the note type.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello,

I’d be happy to try to help.

Just to make sure I’m on the same page, can you share a screencap of what you’re seeing?

Hello Brian,

as you can see, the extra field is showing thrice while in the edit card section the extra field is only showing once. I also synced with anki app on ipad and the extra field was also showing three times.

Gotcha, thank you for that.

I’m not totally sure what’s going on, tbh, as I haven’t quite seen this issue before. But, let’s try the likeliest solution first:

First, let’s get you an add-on to see if we can’t reset your note type formatting. If you can, from the top of your Anki screen click on Tools - Add-ons - Get Add-ons, and enter this code: 952691989

From there, restart Anki. Upon restarting Anki, you may be prompted at this point to update your note types. If so, go ahead and update those and then restart Anki once more.

If you’re not prompted to update your note types upon restarting Anki, go ahead and follow these steps:

Once you open Anki again you should be able to click here at the top of your screen:

From there, go ahead and click ‘update’ if you can and, if ‘update’ is not available, click ‘reset’ for both General and AnKingOverhaul tabs:

Once this has been done, go ahead and restart Anki again.

Once you’re here, the last step will be to reset local changes. This tutorial can walk you through how to do that: Resetting Local Changes

Once you’ve done all that, take a look at your notes and let me know how you fare. If this fixes it, fantastic and you’re all set. If this does not fix it, we’ll have to dig a bit deeper.

I followed the instructions and I still see three, but also this time a bunch of colorful tags follow me up and down and expand and get smaller as I zoom out and in.

I apologize for this inconvenienve

No inconvenience at all, I’m sorry you’re having this issue.

To be honest I’ve never seen this one before, so I’m going to try to flag a colleague to take a look at it for you.

A couple of things so we can get some info to take a deeper look:

  • Can you use Tools > Check Media , copy and paste the whole text here?
  • Can you click here as well, and let us know the filename:

This is the name of the file: ankihub_addon_debug_info_mohammad.chalak_1742972234.zip
As for the media list, it is very long, so I’ve put it in the text document below.
P.S: it doesn’t seem like it’s a media issue since also text repeats as well in the extra field. Interestingly enough it is not formatted like the first extra field and the text in the two otehr extra fields appears in the default black font instead of the classic blue one.
Media.txt (2.4 MB)

Can you also try this

  1. Go to the AnkiHub add-on
  2. Click Deck management
  3. Click on AnKing Step deck
  4. Click Unsubscribe
  5. Then go to Sign In
  6. Subscribe again to the AnKing step deck
  7. Go back to Anki and click sync, follow the prompts and see if that fixes the issue

If it doesn’t we can get a developer to look at this for you!

It worked!
Thank you, Ahmed and Brian.
