I tried to sync between my mac and iphone(never had this problem before) and it said I had to download from or upload to Ankiweb and then it deleted like 3 days worth of cards that I had made. Anyway of getting back?

Hello,

This is related to Anki specifically. AnkiWeb is Anki’s cloud backup service. Please be careful, as choosing “Download” will overwrite the data on your device with the version from the cloud. Conversely, choosing “Upload” will overwrite the cloud data with what is currently on your device.

Therefore, it is important to know whether your local collection or the cloud version is the most up-to-date.

If an accidental overwrite occurs, you can always restore from a backup created before the incident. Here’s a tutorial: How to Restore from Backup
