MacBook crashes after syncing Anki

Once in a while, after syncing Anki from my Mac, when I reopen my computer or come back to it after a break, I see that I have to re-enter my password to open my Mac. Then I get a message that my Mac has restarted because of an error and am given the option to Ignore or Report the error to Apple. Additionally, Anki on my Mac seems buggy, often not revealing the answer to a card unless I move my cursor on the screen (annoying when I am using a remote control). That has me wondering if it is Anki that is also causing the crashing computer.

This actually happened to me before, I hook up my MacBook to a monitor and there was something causing it to repeatedly crash. I removed the connection to my monitor and it stopped crashing.
