Maintaining Duplicates from an Imported Deck OR Importing Due Dates for the Duplicate Cards

Hello!

I am looking to take an Anki deck that I used in a different profile and add it to a new profile because it has all of my due dates for the cards. I cannot import these cards because it keeps telling me that there are duplicates and deletes all of the cards, especially without updating the due dates from “new”. Is there a way that I can allow for the import of duplicates without them deleting or be able to import just the due dates of the already existing cards? Please help! Thanks!

There’s probably a better way to go about this but my first thought at a solution would be:

  1. Export the new profile collection
  2. Import the collection to the old profile
  3. Export the updated collection of the old profile
  4. Import the updated collection to the new profile, or a third profile

Basically reverse the direction you tired to use the problem for your benefit and then repeat back.

Hopefully that makes sense and works for you! Remember to save backups prior in case anything is deleted/lost.
