i followed all the steps to subscribe to the AnKing MCAT deck and installed the addon on my anki app.

Hello, that just means that 158 cards are ready to be studied; it does not indicate that there are necessarily only 158 cards in your deck.
In order to check how many cards are in your deck you would want to go to the browser first:

You are absolutely right, I was looing at the wrong place for the number. under browse i have 6350 cards which seems to be about right.
