How many cards are supposed to be in the anking deck?

Hi! I just recently subscribed to ankihub and specifically to the anking mcat deck as I needed it for the MCAT, however I don’t think my account downloaded the full deck, it says I have around 1297 cards only. Down below is how it looks like, it seems so much less than what everyone normally has, I’m not sure if I’m doing anything wrong, any help would be greatly appreciated!

You’re right to double‑check this—1297 cards is definitely not the full AnKing MCAT deck.

The MCAT deck should have several thousand cards (exact number can change slightly with updates), so what you’re seeing means either:

  1. Only part of the deck is in your collection, or
  2. You’re only seeing a filtered/suspended subset, not the total.

Here’s what I’d do step‑by‑step:

1. Confirm the deck actually synced from AnkiHub

On Anki desktop:

  1. Go to AnkiHub → Manage Subscriptions.
  2. Make sure AnKing MCAT shows as Subscribed and Synced to this profile.
  3. If it isn’t, click Sync to this profile and let it finish.

Then run a full AnkiHub sync:

  • AnkiHub → Sync Now and let it complete without interruption.

2. Check the total number of cards, not just new cards

Right‑click the AnKing MCAT Deck → Properties (or use the Stats/Browser):

  • In the Browser, select the AnKing MCAT Deck in the left sidebar.
  • Look at the card count shown at the top of the browser window.
  • This number should be much higher than 1297 for a full deck.

If the browser also shows ~1297 cards, the rest of the deck hasn’t downloaded yet.

3. Make sure nothing is hidden by filters or subdecks

  • In the Browser:
    • Clear any search so it’s just deck:"AnKing MCAT Deck" (or include child decks).
    • Check that there isn’t a separate parent ā€œAnKing MCATā€ deck above what’s in your screenshot that holds more subdecks.
  • Also check if there are any filtered decks that might be temporarily pulling cards out:
    • If you see filtered decks (with a gear icon), open them, then delete them (this just returns the cards to the original deck).

4. If you still only have ~1297 cards

At that point, it’s likely the deck import didn’t complete correctly. Try:

  1. Pause AnkiWeb sync temporarily (so we don’t duplicate odd states).
  2. In AnkiHub desktop:
    • Unsubscribe from AnKing MCAT.
    • Close Anki, reopen it.
    • Subscribe again and resync from AnkiHub.
  3. Wait until the AnkiHub sync bar fully finishes before closing Anki.

5. Please add one screenshot

To help pinpoint what’s off, could you reply with:

  • A screenshot of:
    • Anki desktop → Browser
    • Left pane: AnKing MCAT Deck selected
    • Top bar showing the total card count.

That will let us see whether the deck is partially downloaded vs. just hidden by settings, and we can give you more precise instructions from there.

it now says 6437 cards but I don’t have access to all of them, my cards still say 200

Hello,

You have all the cards, and you do have access to them. What’s happening is that you have some limits on your deck configurations. Please check out this tutorial so you can set the limits you want and learn how to unsuspend cards for the subjects you want to study: How to Get Started Studying

Anki doesn’t show all the cards on the deck’s main screen because that would make it extremely hard to study specific subjects. If you have all the cards in the browser, which you do, it’s just a matter of unsuspending the ones you want to study and you’ll be good to go.

Let us know if you need help with anything else!

Hi! Thank you so much for the video and your help! I tried following it because I would like to start a specific chapter and it would not let me unfortunately. It keeps taking me back to the start and not to the section I want when I hit ā€œtoggle suspendā€ it also hides the cards I want to study when I hit that button, but shows me the other cards I’m not interested in yet

Hello,

It looks like all of your cards are already unsuspended, so when you toggle suspend, you are actually suspending them.

  1. First, you need to suspend everything. Go to Browse and click on the MCAT deck in the left sidebar. This will make all the cards from this deck appear in the search.
  2. Select any card, hit Command+A, and then click Toggle Suspend. This will suspend all of your cards. This process can cause some lag because of how many cards there are, so just wait for it to process everything.
  3. Then, you can follow the tutorial normally and start unsuspending cards: How to Get Started Studying

Note that Toggle Suspend will not take you anywhere else. It will just suspend or unsuspend the cards. You then have to return to the main Anki window, where you can see your decks, and the cards you unsuspended will be there.
