Only 735 cards showing up from Anking MCAT deck

I have already changed the limits to 9999, went to browse and only saw 735 cards. I have scoured all the threads and nothing has helped.

In Browse, changing limits doesn’t affect how many cards exist in the deck — it only affects how many are shown for study per day. If you’re only seeing 735 cards in Browse, it usually means one of these:

  1. Deck not fully imported

    • In Anki, go to File → Import and re‑import the AnKing MCAT package you downloaded.
    • Make sure the .apkg file size looks reasonable (hundreds of MB for big decks). If it’s tiny, the download may be incomplete and you should re‑download from the original AnkiHub/AnKing source.
  2. You’re browsing the wrong deck or a filtered/search subset

    • In the left sidebar of Browse, click the top-level “Whole Collection” and look at the card count at the top.
    • Then click the specific AnKing MCAT deck in the left sidebar and check the number again.
    • Clear any search at the top of the Browse window (click the x in the search bar) to ensure you’re not filtering (e.g., is:new, deck:..., etc.).
  3. Some cards in a different deck

    • With Whole Collection selected, search:
      deck:*mcat*
(or tag:*mcat*) to see if some cards ended up in another subdeck or a differently named deck.
    • Also check if any cards are in “Default” or other decks that shouldn’t be.
  4. Check total note/card count

    • Go to Tools → Check Database (repairs some issues, but also gives you a cleaner state).
    • Then look at Tools → Preferences → Backup (not for the number, but if you see very few backups or a brand-new profile, it may hint you imported into a different profile earlier).

Could you post back with:

  • The card count shown at the top of Browse when:
    1. “Whole Collection” is selected
    2. The AnKing MCAT deck is selected
  • The file size of your MCAT .apkg file
  • A screenshot of your deck list and of the Browse window with AnKing MCAT selected

With that info, we can narrow down whether it’s an import issue, a deck-name issue, or just a browsing/filter issue.

Hello,

I would be happy to help.

You might double-check that the cards in the deck have been unsuspended. Suspended cards won’t be able to appear on the main Anki screen

This tutorial uses the AnKing Step deck as an example, though the same basic routine should suffice for the MCAT deck: https://ior.ad/a94K

Give that a shot, let me know how you fare, and we’ll go from there and hopefully we can get you squared away.
