I’ve gone through the process of integrating AnkiHub but have noticed that the Ankihub deck appears as two separate decks, “Anking Overhaul for Step 1 & Step 2” whereas there’s my original deck (v11). When looking into it, the decks have very similar cards. Also, the Overhaul deck is lacking tags that I liked using from the other deck. Is there any way to update my current cards by replacing them with the newer Ankihub versions? Also, is there any way to do this without rescheduling all my original cards? Thanks in advance.
If you have two separate decks, you can find how to solve this in the wiki under “Why do I have two decks”
What tags are you talking about? Since to my knowledge we have not deleted any tags for V12
Also, all your cards should have automatically been updated, you just need to consolidate these decks by merging them (you can see how to do that in the wiki post above)
I usually browse the First Aid tags in the v11 to unsuspend specific topics that I would like to actively study. Similar cards exist but the Overhaul cards have less tags than the v11 and these cards do not merge. For example, there are similar cards between a specific fungi. That specific fungi I am able to find a tag for in the First Aid section within the v11 tags but not in the #AK_Original_Decks. When I locate that specific fungi, there exist two identical cards.
If they do not merge, these might have been duplicates. There was a ton removed in V12.
The First Aid tags also exist in V12, they should have even more tags than in V11.
Make sure you are using the V12 tag as well.
That makes sense. I think I may need to start over because my understanding was to delete the v12 tags (something I saw on one of the forums). So my v12 is not showing up. Given this, I’ll try again to start from square one. Thanks for your help.
You need to delete the V11 tags. (go to browse → tags → v11 tag → right click → delete)
To get the V12 tags again, do this
Please try resetting your local changes. To do this:
Go to browse in your Anki → at the top click on ankihub addon tab → press reset all local changes
This will restore everything to what AnkiHub has unless you have specifically protected those fields
Perfect, that restored my v12 tags. Now when I open Anki though my Anking deck says 5000 new cards instead of just updating the current ones within my deck. I’m assuming this is due to them not being merged/consolidated? A link on how to merge these would be greatly appreciated.
My end goal is to have my cards to update without re-scheduling or making them new again.
They should all have been merged. We have been pushing new cards so that could be why, but they should not amount to 5000
Can you check your V12 tag and see how many cards you have?
How are you sure that they were not merged?
My Step 1 v12 tags include 29,620 cards. I did as you mentioned and I believe they are now merged since all I am seeing are cards from the Overhaul deck. Is there any way to make sure that when updates on the cards occur, it doesn’t mark them as new cards (and/or mess up the scheduling of the cards)?
Checking this will make sure new cards wont show up when we push them. It also won’t mess up scheduling! (AnkiHub cannot interfere with card scheduling)
Hope this answers your questions!
Great, this was super helpful. Thanks!
