If you encounter this issue, do the following:

This occurs because of a card missing a cloze. This is common after installing the AnKing Step Deck

When a card that previously had 5 closes, for example, c1 c2 c3 c4 c5 becomes c1 c1 c1 c1 c1. That leaves 4 closes “missing”. The “empty cards” tool deletes the missing cards that no longer exist
