I understand that you’re missing the Sketchy, Bootcamp, Amboss, and other resource buttons on your AnKing cards. This is likely because the card types have been changed or modified.
The good news is that you can fix this by resetting your local changes through the AnkiHub add-on. Here’s how to restore your card types and get those buttons back:
- Open Anki and go to the Browse view
- In the menu bar at the top, click on AnkiHub
- Select Reset all local changes
- Select the AnKing deck you want to reset
- Click OK
This process will restore all your AnKing cards to their original state, including the resource buttons and card templates, while preserving your study progress. The reset will pull the official card templates from AnkiHub, which should include all the proper buttons and formatting.
If you have made any intentional changes to your cards that you want to keep, make sure to back those up before doing this reset, as they will be overwritten.
Let me know if this resolves your issue or if you need further assistance!
there is no ankihub oipotion in the menubar
I apologize for the confusion. If you don’t see the AnkiHub option in the menu bar, this suggests that you might not have the AnkiHub add-on installed or it’s not working properly. Let’s try to resolve this:
First, check if the AnkiHub add-on is installed:
- Go to Tools > Add-ons in Anki
- Look for the “AnkiHub” add-on in your list
If AnkiHub is not installed:
- Go to Tools > Add-ons > Get Add-ons
- Enter the code:
1322529746
- Click OK and restart Anki once installation is complete
If AnkiHub is already installed but not working:
- Try restarting Anki completely
- If that doesn’t work, try disabling and re-enabling the add-on:
- Select the AnkiHub add-on in the add-ons list
- Click Toggle Enabled and restart Anki
- Enable it again and restart
If you’re still having issues with the add-on:
As an alternative, you may be able to restore your card formatting by using Anki’s backup system:
- Go to File > Switch Profile
- Click Open Backup
- Select a backup from before you changed the card types
- After restoring, check if your resource buttons are back
If none of these options work, you might need to reinstall the AnKing deck through the official channels. Please let me know which of these solutions you’d like to try, or if you need further assistance.
you are wrong. i have the ankihub addon installed, its ays so. i am not reverting to a backup
I apologize for my misunderstanding. You’re right - if the AnkiHub add-on is installed but not showing in the menu bar, there might be a different issue.
Let me provide a more accurate solution for restoring your AnKing buttons:
Try these steps instead:
- In Anki, go to Browse
- Look for the AnkiHub button in the toolbar of the browser window (not in the top menu bar)
- If you see it there, click on it and select Reset all local changes
- Choose your AnKing deck and click OK
If you don’t see the AnkiHub button in the browser toolbar either, try these alternative approaches:
-
Check for AnkiHub sidebar panel: In the browser, look for an AnkiHub section in the left sidebar - you might find reset options there
-
Try using the AnKing Note Types add-on:
- Install the “AnKing Note Types” add-on (code:
952691989
) - This add-on can help restore the original formatting with all resource buttons
- Install the “AnKing Note Types” add-on (code:
-
Update your AnkiHub add-on:
- In Tools > Add-ons, select AnkiHub and click “Check for Updates”
- Restart Anki after any updates
If you continue having issues, it might be helpful to check the specific deck version you’re using and if it’s officially synced through AnkiHub, as this affects how you can reset the card templates.
Hello,
I would be happy to help.
AnkiHub doesn’t generally provide Amboss material, but otherwise if you think you may have done something to alter your deck that you’d like to undo, you have two basic options that may be of help:
-
You can make sure your local copy of the deck agrees with the server copy, which can restore any media you might be missing: Resetting Local Changes
-
Or, you can restore your collection from a backup: How to Restore From Backup
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
ok when i click reset all local changes i am getting an error that says i dont have any decks configured
there has to be a better way than restoring form backup, i am not having the option to have pathoma or bootcamp or sketchy show up at all anymore in my cards. backup is not an option
Gotcha, that may make the other option I shared above the better choice then.
That message usually indicates that you aren’t currently subscribed to any decks on AnkiHub. In order to reset a deck you’ll want to make sure that you have an active AnkiHub account and be subscribed to the deck that you’re hoping to reset.
You might also double-check that you’re on the most recent version of Anki (25.02), as occasionally older versions may present various issues when communicating with add-ons. The most recent release of Anki can always be downloaded at the official Anki website: https://apps.ankiweb.net/
Once you’ve made sure you’re on 25.02 (and updated any add-ons), that your account is active, and that you’re subscribed to the deck in question, I would give a shot resetting local changes and seeing where you’re at from there.
