Hi everyone,
I wanted to see if the AnKing team and the community would be open to a community-driven TrueLearn tagging project for the AnKing deck.
What I’m proposing
A standardized way to tag AnKing cards that correspond to TrueLearn questions, for example:
-
TrueLearn::Step1::Q12345 -
TrueLearn::Step2::Q67890 -
TrueLearn::COMLEX::Q13579
The idea is that when we do a TrueLearn question, we could quickly find and review the matching AnKing cards using these tags.
Why this might be helpful
-
Makes it easier to link question bank learning (TrueLearn) to the AnKing deck.
-
Allows for more targeted review (e.g., reviewing all cards linked to the questions you missed).
-
Could be especially useful for people who rely heavily on both AnKing + TrueLearn as their main study combo.
How it could work (rough idea)
I’m not asking the AnKing team to do all the manual tagging. Instead, I’m imagining something like:
-
The AnKing team helps define a standard tag format (e.g.
TrueLearn::<exam>::QID). -
A shared community resource (Google Sheet, form, etc.) is created where users can log:
-
TrueLearn question ID (or another safe identifier)
-
Matching AnKing note ID(s) / card IDs
-
-
Community volunteers gradually build the mapping.
-
If feasible, the AnKing team could periodically import these tags into the official AnkiHub deck once the data is clean and consistent.
Questions for the AnKing team
-
Would you be open to having official TrueLearn tags in the AnKing/AnkiHub deck if the community does the bulk of the mapping work?
-
Do you have a preferred tag structure (e.g.
TrueLearn::<exam>::QIDvs something else)? -
What’s the best way for us to submit and organize these mappings (Google Sheet, GitHub, form, etc.) so it’s easy for you to review/import?
-
Are there any legal or policy concerns with referencing TrueLearn question IDs or other identifiers in tags that we should be aware of before starting?
For the community
If this is something you’d use, please:
-
Reply with your interest.
-
Share any ideas on tag structure, workflow, or tools that would make this smoother.
If the AnKing team is on board, I’d be happy to help organize or participate in the community effort.
Thanks for considering this!
