I created a new personal tag for missed questions that I never protected on AnkiHub. I have been using it for months and just realized tags have been removed. I have protected the tag now, but is there a way to retrieve old cards that had tags removed?

The only way is to search for an old backup and retrieve the tagged cards from it: Backups - Anki Manual
