Why Does my Anking Deck Have More Cards Then The Deck I am Subscribed To?

I deleted all of my old decks before subscribing to the Anking Deck, which on AnkiHub says has ~28,800 notes. However, when looking at the amount of cards in my deck, it says I have close to 35,000 cards.

I purchased to upgrade to remove irrelevant and redundant cards, however I still seem to have the same number of cards as v11.

Hello!

This is normal.

There is 28,800 notes in the deck, but the number 35,000 is referring to the number of cards in the deck.

1 note can have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5… etc. cards.

Therefore, the deck does have 28,800 notes, but since each note can have for example, c1 c2 c3, that causes the number of cards to be higher than the notes

You can see the difference for yourself by doing the following

  1. Go to Browse in Anki
  2. On the left hand side, go to decks and find AnKing Overhaul

Cards

Notes

Note: mine is slightly different because I add my own cards to the AnKing Step deck, but the concept remains the same.

Hope this clears it up!
