Thanks for the screenshot—that helps.
That message is coming from the AnkiHub add‑on when it tries to connect to the AnkiHub servers and fails. A few things to check:
Check internet / VPN / firewall
Make sure your internet is working in a browser.
If you use a VPN, ad‑blocker, or firewall (Little Snitch, corporate network, university Wi‑Fi, etc.), try:
Temporarily disabling it, or
Switching to a different network / hotspot.
Some networks block AnkiHub’s API domain, which can cause this exact kind of error.
Check AnkiHub add‑on status
In Anki, go to Tools → Add-ons and confirm AnkiHub is enabled.
Click Config on AnkiHub and make sure your email is correct.
Try restarting Anki afterwards.
Update Anki + AnkiHub
Make sure you’re on a supported Anki version (per AnkiHub docs).
In Tools → Add-ons → Check for Updates, update AnkiHub if an update is available, then restart Anki.
Try to reproduce and note when it appears
Does it happen when:
Opening Anki?
Clicking the AnkiHub button?
Syncing a particular deck?
That detail will help narrow it down.
If it still happens, please add:
Your device + OS (e.g. macOS 14, Windows 11).
Your Anki version (from Help → About).
Your AnkiHub add‑on version (from Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub).
Whether you’re on a school / work network or a home network.
Post those details (and any new screenshots) in your topic and we can help you further troubleshoot, or escalate it to the AnkiHub team if it looks like a server‑side issue.
