I accidentally deleted some cards from the Anking step deck. I thought that syncing with Ankihub would bring back the cards but it doesn’t seem to work. I also tried turning off all protected fields. How can I sync with Ankihub to bring back any deleted cards in my deck?

The reason simple syncing didn’t work is that AnkiHub treats card deletions as intentional local changes, which are preserved during regular syncing. The “Reset all local changes” option specifically tells AnkiHub to discard all your local modifications and restore the deck to its original state.

The best way to recover your cards depends on whether they had personal annotations. Please choose the option that fits your situation:

  • If the cards didn’t have any personal annotations, you can recover them by resetting local changes as the bot suggested: How to Reset Local Changes

  • If the cards did have changes made by you and you want to get those edits back, I recommend restoring your collection from a backup: How to Restore from Backup
