Adding new notes not working

New user here. I have a private deck with classmates for our program and am unable to add notes after the initial upload of the deck. There are new card types for the ankihub deck but they don’t allow me to suggest new note. I found a workaround that the AnKingAnkisthesia note type will allow me to suggest new note (different deck than our private one) but when I did bulk suggest it said it uploaded them and on my ankihub deck page it is not showing up with new suggestions. I attempted to redo the bulk suggest and got this error message

Are you using the same note type that is already contained in the initial upload of the deck?

For example, if I were to try to add a card to the Dermki deck I would have to use the following:

Yes I was originally attempting to use the same note type but the suggest new note is not able to be applied

The AnkingAkisthesia note type is not in the original deck upload but comes up as such so I tried making some notes and bulk uploading. That is what gave the prior error

I think that’s part of the issue; you can only use a note type that is already in the deck.

It may be that there are sometimes two copies. For example:

The top one I can’t add to the MCAT deck. The bottom one I can (has to be the parenthetical dashed note type).

As long as you’re using the same note type that is already present in the deck, and using the parenthetical dashed version, it should work.

Unfortunately the same note type with the parenthetical for me isn’t allowing me to suggest new note.

Mine has 3 options for each of the note types (basic, cloze, cloze+ and image occlusion) that are in the original deck. For example (describing to remove personal email)
Cloze+
Cloze+ (deck name/email)
Cloze+ (deck name/email) - 79188 (each note type of the third option has a different set of numbers and/or letters attached to it at the end)

Obviously the first should not allow suggest new note. But both options with the parenthetical still show up like the above with this

Okay, a few things so we’re on the same page:

I subscribed to the deck and made myself a maintainer (so that I could attempt to suggest a new note).

I suggested one note, as follows below, with the note type ‘Cloze-4e…’

Then, I added a second note with the note type ‘Cloze±791…’

With both of them I see an active ‘Suggest a new note’ function and was able to suggest a note. I didn’t receive any errors, and I see the notes present under ‘New Note Suggestions’ on Ankihub:

The most immediate questions I’d have are the following:

Are you certain that you used these notes types?
Are you the owner of the deck?
Regardless of ownership of the deck, are you set as a maintainer?

For example, it looks to me like you are the owner of the deck but I don’t see your name under the ‘maintainers.’

I’m not positive that that’s the issue, but it stands out for me (especially since, upon subscribing to the deck as a new maintainer, I was just now able to suggest two notes without issue).

Yeah I am the owner of the deck. I didn’t even think about making myself a maintainer, I just assumed the owner had maintainer privileges. I definitely used the correct note types. So it seems I just need to make myself a maintainer as well?

That being said I just tried to add myself as a maintainer and my username/email are not coming up.

Hmm.

Just to avoid any obvious stuff I might have overlooked:

You have an active Ankihub membership?
You have the Ankihub addon installed and are logged in?
Do you know what version of Anki you’re currently running?

Were you able to add notes to the deck, after upload, before and this is a new issue? Or have you not been able to add any notes at all since uploading the deck?

Just double checked and yes my membership is active. Current anki version is Version ⁨24.06.3 (d678e393)⁩ and I have the ankihub add on as well.

I have not been able to add new notes after the initial upload yet for any deck. After I uploaded this deck the first time I figured it was some error on my part, removed it from ankihub, and reuploaded it double checking everything. Neither time was I able to add notes after the initial upload

This might be the issue. When reuploading the deck, a new set of note types need to be used.

Can you take a screenshot of all the note types you have in your deck? You might be using an old one that does not allow you to suggest new notes
