Anking Deck Not loading Media in the Extra field

I’ve been using the Anking Deck for about 6 months now with no problem. However, I took a closer look and realized that the “extra” field, where all the images are supposed to be, is not functioning. My media sync is idle. I’ve gone into Browse and clicked ‘Reset all local changes to the deck,’ but still nothing.

Thanks in advance for the help! Just want my media files to sync, but it is not working across 2 different computers. I also checked to see if that Extra field was protected, and it is not.

Hello,

To help us understand the issue better, could you please clarify a few things?

  • Is all of your media affected, or is this only happening with some cards?
  • Does the media simply not show up, or do you see a broken image icon?

Could you also please provide a screenshot of at least one card with the missing media so we can investigate this further?

Thanks for getting back to me. To answer your questions:

  • only the extra media field is affected. Sketchy seems to work.
  • The media simply does not show up.

I’ve deleted and redownloaded my anking addon and restarted my anki app with no improvement. Let me know if you need any more information, and thank you again.

Can you check if these buttons are clickable on this card?

The issue with the image not showing up is often caused by a protected field. Could you please double-check that the “Extra” field is unchecked? Here’s a tutorial on how to do that: How to Manage Protected Fields

Only after saving your protected field preferences, please try resetting local changes again: How to Reset Local Changes

Do you have any cards where the “Extra” field has images, or is every “Extra” field empty? Do some “Extra” fields have text on them? If they are completely blank or if only the images aren’t showing up, the solution might be different.

Hey marcos,

I just turned off the extra field from being protected! Media sync switches between “downloading” and “idle.” I have reset local changes and now the achondroplasia example shows the image! When i check the rest of the anking deck, some cards have images in the extras section but some dont, just a little icon placeholder of an image. Anything else I should do? Thanks in advance!

It’s probably because the images are still downloading, as there are many beautiful illustrations! If you continue to see broken image icons in the “Extra” field over the next few days, please contact us so we can investigate further. For now, the issue seems to be resolved, and you just need to wait for everything to finish downloading.
