Anki does not update automatically, unfortunately. You’ll have to update manually, which can be done from the Anki website: https://apps.ankiweb.net/

Recent Anki versions (25.07+) have an option under Tools > Upgrade/Downgrade to switch versions. Anki also usually notify you about major updates.
