I deleted anki, then went to the link and downloaded the newest version: Version 25.02 (038d85b1)
I held shift to skip sync and then went to update add ons but all were already updated.
If I restart anki I am still stuck in this loop where it cannot sync and I cannot click out.
Just to make sure: what happens when you try to sync while in Safe Mode?
Separately, can you try to log into ankihub.net and fill out the Study Preferences pane from there? I’m not positive, but if it’s fulfilled there it may prevent it from popping up in Anki. Should be here:
Yes that is all correct.
The one thing I did not see online when I clicked settings was a window to accept the new Terms & conditions. However when I updated my name online, it did update in the Anki app albeit I still cannot click on it because the syncing window is in a loop…
Man, that’s a new one. I’m sorry to say I’ve seen issues with one, or another, of these issues but not yet in conjunction like this.
I’m sorry to say I’m at a loss personally. Aside from updating to 25.02, pushing an update to your add-ons, and loading in safe mode, I’m plumb out of ideas
I’ll go ahead and tag in one of the actually smart people for you, though, and maybe his expertise will do the trick where mine falls short
Ok thanks for looking into this & the responsiveness! I will just summarize what I see below:
-When I start anki, my sync tab is stuck in a loop. Behind it I see the personal details form, but I cannot click on anything due to the loading sync tab.
-When I skip auto sync & the add ons upon Anki startup, the app is not frozen. And the sync works.
Can you use the AnkiHub > Help > Upload logs option and post the filename shown?
To fix the issue for now, can you go to AnkiHub > Config and set the Auto Sync with AnkiHub option to Never? After you restart Anki and sync with AnkiHub manually, the settings screen should re-appear but it shouldn’t cause Anki to freeze this time. Once you filled your profile info, you can re-enable autosync from the config.
I went into the add on’s and toggled Ankihub off and then back on. I restarted the app and then everything was fixed! The sync didn’t pause and i filled out the form.
