“Complete your profile to continue” will not allow me to “confirm and close.”

I’ve already tried all the previous suggestions and still can’t get it to work. I have Anki ⁨25.09.2 version downloaded on macOS 15.7.4 and when I go to update my add-ons it says there is nothing to update. I go to restart Anki and sync my deck and the “complete your profile page” comes up and doesn’t allow me to confirm and close. Thank you for any suggestions or assistance!

Hello,

One critical step is missing to fix the issue. Since you already have everything up to date, we will skip those steps:

  1. Configure Your Profile:

    • After the updates are done, log in to your account on AnkiHub.net.
    • Click on ‘Settings’ at the top of the page.
    • Fill out the ‘Study Preferences’ tab as shown below.
  2. Final Restart: Close and re-open Anki normally (without holding Shift) to see if you’re all set.

Hi Marcos -
I tried this as well. It didn’t work. I select edit under the study preferences tab and I see all the previous responses but there is nowhere for me to put my information, thus it doesn’t allow me to update. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hello hello,

Sorry for all this difficulty. I’ve only ever seen this bug once before, several months back, and I was pretty sure that we had squashed it then. It’s odd that it’s popping back up for you, and I haven’t seen anyone else with the issue in many months so it’s throwing us a little bit of a curveball

We’re going to go ahead and put in a support ticket for you as well as notify one of our developers, in the hopes that there is some kind of an easy fix that can get you squared away sooner than later. In the meantime, I tried a couple of things on our end that mightttt help a bit :crossed_fingers:

I went into your account and cleaned up all the duplicate ‘Study preferences’ entries, and then filled one out for you on our end, just to see if maybe the glitch is on the user side and perhaps filling it out on the back end might do something. I have no idea if this will work or not, but it’s worth a shot since it’s harmless to try and it’s about the only thing I can think of at the moment until

You might try logging in and/or syncing now, and let me know if that made any difference and hopefully we can get you squared away without too much more trouble. :mending_heart:

Yeah that wasn’t even my information - I’m an internal medicine resident! But it wouldn’t let me edit or update it which was weird. I can now though and whatever you did worked! Thanks!
